How to stop betting on college football Saturdays
College football runs from noon until after midnight. That is a lot of hours with a live game on and a bet one tap away.
Why Saturdays are hard
There is always another game starting. Props, parlays and live lines keep coming, and a small early win or loss changes your mood for the rest of the day.
Set it up before kickoff
- Decide the plan this morning. "I am not betting today." Say it to one person.
- Remove the easy path. Block the sites or on Android, and sign out of the apps.
- Give the day a shape. Watch one game with people, then do something outside. A day with no plan fills itself with bets.
- Keep your money out of reach. Leave the card in a drawer, not in the app.
When the pull hits mid game
Put the phone in another room and wait thirty minutes. If you still want to bet after the timer, the game will still be on and the pull is usually smaller. Text your person first.
Sundays too
Football continues. Here is the NFL Sunday plan.
