Stays on your phone

Your reason, your person's phone number, your goal and your card answers are stored only in your browser. They are never sent to us.

If you make an account

You start with a free account. If you continue with Google, we receive the email address on that Google account, and nothing else from it. Sign-in is handled by Supabase. Some in-app browsers, such as the one inside Instagram or Facebook, do not allow Google sign-in; there you can start without an account and add one later.

To restore your Jungle on another device we store the dates of the nights you held, your tree theme, and two rough buckets from your card (a stake range and how many nights a week). That is all.

You can delete your account from the Jungle page. It removes the account and the Jungle data with it.

Anonymous usage counts

We log which buttons get tapped, such as CALL or LOCK, against a random code made on your device. These counts never include your email, your name or an account id, and they are not linked to your account.

How long we keep things

Account and Jungle data (the dates of your nights held, your tree theme and the two rough buckets) are kept until you delete your account, and are removed when you do. You can delete it yourself from the Jungle page, or email hello@holdthebet.com.

Anonymous usage counts carry only a random code made on your device. They cannot be tied to a name, an email or an account, so we keep them for as long as Hold The Bet runs, to learn whether it helps. Clearing your browser data cuts the link to your device for good.

Nightly reminder subscriptions are removed when you turn reminders off.

Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, which can include an IP address and the time of a request, under its own retention rules. We do not use them to profile anyone.

What we never do

We do not sell data. We do not build ad audiences from users. We do not ask for bank details, and we do not store what you type into your card.

The Hold The Bet app in ChatGPT

If you use Hold The Bet inside ChatGPT, the app receives only an optional region (US, UK or other) that ChatGPT passes when you have said where you are. It does not receive your conversation, your name, your email or any account details. It stores nothing and keeps no record of your request. It replies with a short pause, helplines and a link. If you follow the link, the visit is counted anonymously as coming from ChatGPT. Disconnect the app in ChatGPT at any time.

Reminders

Nightly reminders, when they are available, are optional and can be turned off at any time.
