When your friends' group chat is all about bets

Your friends are posting slips and picks, and every message is a nudge. You do not have to leave your friends to stop betting, but you can change how that chat reaches you.

Quick changes today

  1. Mute the chat during games. Or archive it on game days.
  2. Turn off message previews. Then slips do not show up on your lock screen.
  3. Leave the picks-only chats. If a chat is only slips and picks, mute or leave it.

What to say

You do not owe anyone a reason. Short works: "I'm off betting for a while, still in for the games." If one friend keeps pushing, that is worth noticing.

Keep the friendship, change the plan

Suggest things that are not built around a slip: watching at someone's place, a pickup game, food. Tell one friend the real reason so you have someone on your side in the chat. If the chat keeps sending you free bet offers and promo codes, mute those threads too.

Pause before the next bet

Hold The Bet is free with no account. It shows your own number and reason and holds a 30 second pause before you bet.

Free. No account. Takes two questions.
